Worker's Dance League Recital - Jan 07, 1934
From The Collection of Mignon Garland
Sunday, 07 January 1934
A recital of the politically leftist Worker's Dance League included Mignon and the "New Duncan Dancers." Their first dance on the program was a memoriam for Bruno Tesch, a communist executed by Nazi Germany for disrupting a Nazi march on what became known as Altona Bloody Sunday. They also danced "Impressions of a Soviet Factory." Julia Levien was part of the group. Also included is a brief news clipping describing the event.
