Dvořák — Slavonic Dances

Reconstructed by Julia Levien in the early 1990's in NYC on the Duncan Dance Continuum, these folkdance inspired works had a narrative line which featured a soloist (Judith Landon) rousing a group of tired wanderers to movement. Beginning slowly the dancers support and encourage each other to action. A final section finds a playful spirit among the dancers as they pass scarf and each takes a solo moment in friendly rivalry and joyous celebration.
