Kathleen Hinni (1907-1995)

Kathleen Hinni studied Duncan dance with Anita Zahn and taught Duncan dance. She also taught modern dance at the Chapin School in Manhattan. In 1947 she founded and was President of the Duncan Dance Guild. From 1949 to 1968, she directed the summer season School of Creative Arts (SOCA) at Martha's Vineyard. Known by the initials KT, Katherine was a friend of Hortense Kooluris. KT invited Hortense to be a guest artist and Duncan teacher at SOCA. Photos are courtesy of former SOCA camper Marjorie Levine.
